The Radio Community Chest Choir has been performing Handel’s Messiah in Sydney since 1941. In its early years it was known as the Combined Churches Choir, and now includes voices from all over Sydney and beyond singing this iconic and world-famous oratorio.
Come and be part of the audience on Saturday 12 December or Sunday 13 December 2026 at 3.00pm and celebrate Christmas in the city of Sydney at the beautiful and historic Sydney Town Hall.

Is this the year you sing Messiah on stage at the Sydney Town Hall as part of the Radio Community Chest Choir?
The Choir is non-auditioning and is made up of singers from all over Sydney. Some of our choristers have been singing Handel’s Messiah with us for years; others are doing this for the first time. We welcome trained singers and enthusiastic amateurs. Everyone should have the opportunity to hear and sing Messiah – including the Hallelujah Chorus – on stage, so why wait another year? Come and be part of our choir of over 350 voices. Be in the midst of it all as the City of Sydney celebrates Christmas in 2026.
Children and students under 18 are also welcome (children should be accompanied by a parent or guardian).

Our Saturday performance is the first of two annual presentations of Handel’s Messiah at the Sydney Town Hall. The Choir will be led by Conductor Tim Chung, accompanied by Organist Mark Quarmby, a professional orchestra and soloists.
